They learned important life-saving skills, including what to do in an emergency and how CPR helps keep oxygen flowing to the brain and body.

We spent time looking at, smelling, tasting and evaluating a range of different vegetable soups. The children were very brave when trying them, and some even discovered that they actually liked them!

It was really interesting to find out that some children had never tasted soup before, so this was a brand-new experience. They were fantastic at identifying the main vegetables in each soup, and some children were even able to name several of the ingredients correctly.

A fun (and tasty!) afternoon of learning!

G. Leonard! She brought great energy and enthusiasm as she shared her experiences as a writer and spoke about her brilliant books. The children were extremely well behaved, asked thoughtful questions, and were very excited to hear about the stories and characters she has created.

It was a truly inspiring session that sparked lots of interest in reading and writing. A huge thank you to M. G. Leonard for such an engaging and memorable visit!

Design and Technology has been great fun this term. The children thoroughly enjoyed designing and making their brilliant Arctic creatures using recyclable materials.

Their teamwork, determination and creativity have been extremely impressive. They supported one another throughout the process and produced some outstanding and imaginative designs.

The letter highlights the strong progress made by our disadvantaged pupils and confirms that their achievements are above national averages. This is a significant recognition of the hard work, dedication and commitment shown by our pupils, staff and wider school community.

The Secretary of State also acknowledged the positive impact of high expectations, effective teaching and the inclusive support we provide to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.

We would like to thank our families for their continued support and partnership. Together, we remain committed to raising standards, sharing best practice and ensuring the very best outcomes for all our children.

We are delighted to share that Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School achieved the second-best SATs results in Oxford, placing it among the very top performing primaries in the area and a real standout in the latest league tables. This excellent outcome highlights the dedication and hard work of both pupils and staff, and we congratulate the whole school community on this achievement.
