    This week in Year 3, we are becoming super scientists! This afternoon, we measured the temperature of ice as it melted to observe what happens when a material changes state. Afterwards, we used the Chromebooks to research the melting points of different materials. Well done, Lime!

    Emerald have been developing our art skills by designing and creating clay relief tiles inspired by our topic of Islamic Art ⭐️We explored different patterns and shapes carefully to create our designs. Later this week, we will be trying again to make perfectly symmetrical versions before painting and decorating our finished tiles!

  • Emerald Class Investigates Changing States

    In Emerald Class, we explored how materials can change state by adding heat and energy to a solid — chocolate! The children loved observing what happened as the chocolate melted and discussing the different changes they could see. We now know all about freezing, melting, condensation, and evaporation… especially when chocolate is involved!
