Your Child's Wellbeing at school

At Our Lady’s Cowley, your child’s wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do. We are dedicated to creating a safe, caring, and supportive environment where every child feels valued, respected, and secure. Through strong nurturing relationships, effective pastoral support, and opportunities that promote emotional, social, and physical development, we help children build confidence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards learning. We also work in partnership with the Mental Health Support Team (MHST) to provide additional support for children and families within our setting. Our aim is for every child to feel happy, supported, and ready to thrive both at school and beyond.

Place2Be supports the emotional wellbeing of our pupils by providing a safe, caring space where children can talk about their feelings and learn positive ways to manage them. Through one-to-one support and whole-class activities, Place2Be helps our children build confidence, resilience, and strong relationships so they can thrive both in school and beyond.

NSPCC works with schools to help keep children safe and happy. Through age-appropriate lessons and activities, children learn about their rights, how to stay safe, and who to talk to if they are worried. By working with the NSPCC, we help our pupils feel confident, supported, and able to speak up

NHS Mind Matters supports the mental health and emotional wellbeing of children and young people. Through practical advice, resources, and guidance for pupils, parents, and staff, Mind Matters helps us promote positive mental health, build resilience, and ensure our children feel supported, understood, and ready to learn.

Mind Matters helps us support the mental health and emotional wellbeing of our children. Through simple, age-appropriate activities and guidance, pupils learn how to understand their feelings, develop resilience, and know where to find help when they need it. Mind Matters supports our whole school community in creating a caring, positive environment where every child can thrive.

CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) works with schools and families to support children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing. CAMHS provides specialist advice, guidance, and support for children who may need extra help, ensuring they feel understood, supported, and able to reach their full potential.
